Storia Orale

È la registrazione dei ricordi, delle esperienze e delle opinioni delle persone su ciò che hanno vissuto.

Significa incontrare persone faccia a faccia, dialogare con loro, ascoltare quel che hanno da dire, riflettere e utilizzare criticamente i loro racconti.

Consente di far sentire la voce di individui e gruppi che hanno poco ascolto o che sono ai margini della società.

Offre punti di vista originali e spesso sorprendenti sul passato e sul presente, che sovvertono, contraddicono o integrano le narrative dominanti.

È un’opportunità per salvare racconti, tradizioni orali, lingue e “arti del dire” che sono in continua trasformazione.

In Italia la storia orale ha una ricca tradizione che risale agli anni '50, ma l’Associazione Italiana di Storia Orale (AISO) è impegnata anche in nuovi ambiti come archivi orali e tecnologie digitali, e public history.
